Does it really make sense to clean your vent and ignore your clothes dryer?

The photo shown is an extreme example of a blockage found on a vent inside the dryer.

Look closely to see 3 small holes at the very top.

If there was no attempt to find and clean this blockage, the dryer would never have operated properly and would still be a potential fire hazard!

1. Thoroughly inspect the entire dryer vent system, either externally or with a camera from inside the dryer vent.
2. Take note of anything that is inefficient or most importantly, unsafe.
3. Take preliminary airflow readings at the outside vent.
4. Carefully move the dryer away from the wall.
5. Clean the floor beneath the dryer.
6. Clean the entire dryer vent system using a rotary brush and a H.E.P.A. filtered vacuum.
7. Clean the outside discharge vent and insure proper operation of backdraft damper.
8. Clean the inside of the dryer when only minimal disassembly is required – 90% of all dryers meet this criteria. If major disassembly is required, this service will need to be done by an appliance repair technician.
9. Clean the lint screen and the inside of dryer behind the lint screen.
10. Carefully move dryer back into place.
11. Take final airflow readings at the outside discharge vent to ensure proper airflow.
12. Recommend any repairs or adjustments that might be required to make the dryer vent system efficient and most importantly safe. Most repairs can be made same day.
13. Spotless cleanup.
